Maxwell Manor is an alternative event space and private members club — nine themed rooms, a fully licensed bar, and a professional studio, all under one roof.
Every member is vetted by a human before they set foot inside. That single rule is what makes the rest possible: a genuinely inclusive house where the curious and the seasoned share the same rooms, phones stay in lockers, and nobody has to explain themselves.

The bar stays open
Fully licensed at every event and social, staffed until two.
The Rooms
Nine rooms
Built as permanent sets, not props. Open to members, and to photographers hiring the studio by the hour.
The Club
Red banquettes, vintage champagne crates, and a cellar stocked deeper than it looks.
The Clinic
White metro tile, teal neon and a full examination rig. Unnervingly convincing.
The Enchanted Forest
A blossom canopy over a white four-poster, and lighting that turns on a dime.
The Boys
Splattered neon paint, a payphone that still rings, and graffiti earned honestly.
Orange & Black
A steel frame, a suspended swing, and one very loud accent wall.

Annual membership is required to attend anything we host. It is deliberately inexpensive — the vetting, not the price, is what keeps the Manor what it is.

Some of what we do is never listed here. Approved members are given a code that opens a calendar of unlisted nights, the rooms we keep off the website, and priority on places before anyone else is told.

Every application is read by a member of the team. We will come back to you by email with next steps, the address, and everything you need to know before your first night.
Photo ID is checked on arrival. You must be 18 or over.
House Rules
Five
rules
Short, and not negotiable. They are what keeps the Manor safe.
Respect the space and the staff
The Manor has been carefully curated with love, intention, and respect for your experience. In return, we ask that you treat both the venue and our team with the same consideration. Any form of rudeness or inappropriate behaviour towards staff will not be tolerated and may result in you being asked to leave.
Respect each other
Please treat other guests with the same respect and consideration you expect in return. The Manor is a safe, inclusive space where all guests have been carefully vetted; appropriate behaviour is expected and must be maintained at all times.
Phones stay in lockers
To protect the privacy and atmosphere of the Manor, phones are not permitted within the venue and must be kept in your lockers for the duration of your stay.
Photography by arrangement only
The only photography allowed is by our professional photographers during the event, or by prior arrangement when hiring the studio for private shoots. If you are found taking photographs without permission, you will be asked to leave and your membership may be revoked.
Tell us if you cannot make it
If you purchase tickets for an event and fail to attend on two occasions without notice, you will no longer be permitted to book future events. We kindly ask that if you are unable to attend, you inform us in advance — it is simple and courteous.

Before you ask
What is the difference between an Event Night and a Club Night?
On both evenings the Manor is fully open — every room accessible, the bar open, and music throughout. A Club Night is the classic Maxwell Manor experience: a relaxed environment where you explore the space and socialise at your own pace. Event Nights simply add an extra layer of entertainment and spectacle.
Do I have to be a member to attend events?
Yes. You must hold a membership to attend events hosted by Maxwell Manor. If it is a private party not hosted by us, membership is not required.
Can I bring a guest who is not a member?
No. Sadly they will be refused entry without a membership. The name on the ticket must match the name on the membership.
Is there a difference between photography hire and professional session rates?
Yes. Professional session hire provides full access to the venue’s specialised equipment and furnishings. Photography and videography hire focuses on use of the space primarily as a filming or photography location.
Is there a licensed bar?
There is a fully licensed bar at all of our events and socials.
Where is Maxwell Manor?
We are located on the outskirts of Chorley, Lancashire town centre. The full address is shared with confirmed members and bookings.
Where can I park?
Parking is limited. For events there are local paid car parks close to the venue.
Do you have to be experienced to attend events?
Not at all. There will be something for everyone and we are well versed with new attendees — say hello to a host on arrival and they will look after you.
What is the dress code?
The dress code depends on the event. All information will be on your ticket or the event advertisement.
What time do events finish?
Events finish at 2am.
Are there lockers for my belongings?
Yes. Lockers are provided, and phones must be kept in them for the duration of your stay.
Are tickets refundable?
Sadly all tickets are non-refundable.
